The R.E. Borrmann Steel Company is a family owned company that was established in 1954 by Robert Borrmann. Growing up, Robert learned the steel business from his father Frank Borrmann who started Borrmann Steel in Oakland, CA in 1923. Later in 1932, Frank Borrmann moved his business from Oakland to San Francisco where Borrmann Steel continued to operate until it closed in 2000. R.E. Borrmann Steel Company, located in East Palo Alto, CA, continues to serve San Francisco and the greater bay area with their steel needs. The 3.5 acre facility is stocked with over 2 million pounds of carbon steel. Custom orders are also available as there are in house facilities for searing, sawing, and burning to fit specific needs.
